New technology available at Peak View Dental truly enables you to be informed about your dental health. Standard x-ray film has been replaced with digital sensors. Digital radiographs are faster than traditional radiographs and reduce the amount of radiation exposure up to 90%. The enlarged images are immediately displayed on a large monitor so that patients can see areas of concern in their mouth.
We are constantly learning and striving to advance the standard of patient care in our dental practice. In doing so, we have added an optional new procedure to routine cleaning care to help fight periodontal disease. We now have the ability to attack this periodontal inflammation at the microscopic level through the use of our dental soft tissue lasers. We recommend that all of our patients have their teeth decontaminated with a dental laser prior to cleaning appointments for the following reasons.
The laser decontamination process is painless and takes 5 minutes to complete.
Cavity detection is performed in three ways to ensure accurate detection. Dr. Sibo uses lasers to detect decay, in addition to, visually inspecting and reviewing x-rays. This allows her to be more conservative with restorations. Laser cavity detection is much more accurate than the traditional use of looking for a “stick” with a dental explorer. Our patients find a tour of their mouths with an intra-oral camera the most informative. This enables patients to see what the dentist sees, allowing for better understanding of dental problems.
